Bitcoin DeFi Platform ALEX Lab Reports Security Breach
17/06 13:25
According to Odaily, Bitcoin DeFi platform ALEX Lab has reported a security breach. As of 11 am on June 17, the attacker had broadcast over 9700 transactions. These transactions involved the creation of new wallet addresses and the dispersion of on-chain STX balances into these new wallets. The number of traceable transactions began to exponentially increase from 300 to over 9600, with no signs of slowing down. This implies that the number of independent addresses of the attacker increased from less than 100 to over 4700 within a week.
A small amount of STX was transferred to thousands of new addresses and subsequently sent to CEX. Most CEX cooperated fully with us during the recovery process. However, the attacker became aware of this and quickly switched to the sending address of the stolen funds from CEX. The current traceable amount of STX deposited into CEX is 8,373,587 STX, and the attacker's current on-chain balance is approximately 5,560,332 STX, calculated based on wallet balances exceeding 100 STX.
