11/05 08:24
According to PANews, Cosmos Hub has announced that its 'Gaia v16 software upgrade' proposal has been approved by the community. The upgrade is set to be implemented at block 20440500, which is expected to occur on May 15th. The v16 version will introduce a host of new features enabled by the implementation of CosmosSDK 0.47.
Among these new features is the IBC throttling module, designed to prevent a large influx or outflow of IBC tokens in a short period of time. This adds an extra layer of protection for IBC transfers. Another feature is the ICA controller submodule, which will allow Hub users to perform operations on other chains using their ub accounts.
The upgrade will also introduce the IBC fee middleware, which aims to create IBC channels through protocol internal relayer incentives. Lastly, the ICS will be upgraded to v4.1.0-lsm, which introduces ICS epochs to reduce the relay cost of ICS.
The Gaia v16 software upgrade is a significant step for Cosmos Hub, as it continues to enhance its platform and provide its users with more functionality and security.
